E-dReg serves as both a "large-scale power bank" and a "stabilizer" for the power grid. It maintains the grid frequency at 60Hz through real-time response while providing energy shifting capabilities—storing power during off-peak hours and releasing it during peak demand to achieve peak shaving and optimize economic efficiency.

The disaster-resistant microgrid enhances the campus's power supply resilience, possessing islanding capabilities. It can maintain uninterrupted power supply to critical areas during external grid outages and reduce peak electricity demand on campus by automatically adjusting energy storage output, thus optimizing overall demand management. In addition, it can also perform peak-to-off-peak dispatching, helping the campus to utilize electricity pricing strategies more efficiently.

The introduction of a factory energy storage system aims to reduce peak loads and lower contracted capacity with Taipower, while also providing UPS functionality to reduce operational risks caused by voltage drops and power outages, and enhance power stability in the factory area.

Originally an auxiliary power storage system, this project was upgraded to E-dReg in August 2024, giving the system faster dynamic frequency regulation capabilities and enabling it to adjust power in real time in response to grid changes, thereby enhancing the stability of regional power supply.

This project incorporates E-dReg dynamic frequency regulation service, which improves grid frequency stability through rapid power adjustment, while providing more resilient support for regional power supply.
